A House Redone, Part 2!

Jan 18, 2016

With so much to share about how Little Leslie updated her new home with Hubby Charles, this is the second part of the series. If you missed last week, catch up here to see the gorgeous dining, living and kitchen renovations! Moving from the kitchen to the breakfast and den areas, the rest of the home is just as impressive!!!

Here is an after shot – so beautiful!! But… how did she get there?

Segreto Secrets Blog!-A House Redone, Part 2!

Here’s the den, breakfast and kitchen area before! So pretty but Leslie’s taste veers more to the lighter, more casual French feel.

With the room cleared out, she was able to really take a look at the space. Leaving the floors unchanged, she painted the trim, ceiling and walls Sherwin-Williams Pearly White. Leslie wanted the cabinet to stand out like a piece of furniture, but she felt that, as is, it wouldn’t work for her TV and media equipment.

So she decided to take the center section completely out! This left only sheetrock in the middle, which allowed for a larger flat-screen TV.

The cabinet was painted one of our favorite French blue tones – Sherwin-Williams Front Porch! You can see the sample she chose for us to finish the piece in.

What a difference it made, and it’s a perfect fit for their TV!! The sofas and pillows were bought off the floor from Lam Bespoke! They have a large selection of ready-made sofas in neutral linen fabrics. Other sources for items in the room? The coffee table is from Vieux Interiors, and the side tables, as well as the art over the couch by Christina Graci and the landscape by the cabinet by Debbie Mosley, are all from Segreto Boutique & Gallery. Leslie also did a great job accessorizing her bookcases, using a neutral but interesting palette!

I love her breakfast area – large enough for a dinner party!! Inheriting the table and chairs, she changed the look by painting them herself! The lantern is from Bering’s Hardware, and the herbiaries were bought at an auction, donated by Chateau Domingue and framed by Framecrafters, Inc. Using much of what she already had to accessorize, the space looks fantastic!

Leading from the living room to the den, there were bookshelves on both sides.

By removing the shelving and adding custom shutter doors, she created a large closet, perfect for storing a Christmas tree with all its decorations! Brilliant!

In the bar, which connected the den with the hallway leading to the bedrooms, Leslie took out the upper cabinets and replaced them with…..

Yes, scaffolding planks! This was a tip I learned at one of my clients homes–for eight dollars a piece, it’s easy to stay within a budget! We were able to refinish them to look reclaimed. The cabinet bases were painted Sherwin-Williams Colonnade Gray and then glazed to feel like a piece of furniture and blend better with the existing granite counter-top!

This bathroom was the only thing in the home that was majorly renovated! I love the floor tile she chose from Ann Sacks. The artwork was a wedding gift – where different families gave an individual piece to form one larger work of art! What a great idea!! It was customized by Renovate. The owner of the store was a sorority sister of mine… and she’s Leslie’s sister’s mother-in-law, small world!! Located right down the street from my shop off Westview, she has great items, and it’s definitely worth visiting!!!

Every home needs a man cave, and Charles was ecstatic about decorating his! Here’s the before. They purchased this pool table from the previous owner, and we glazed it to be more gray in tone.

What a change!! Leslie says they really use this room a lot!

Segreto Secrets Blog!-A Home Redone Part 2!

Just painting and accessorizing made a big difference to the game room bath. By painting your cabinetry a darker color, you can accomplish a designer feel without paying for the extra step of glazing! These vintage framed prints from Segreto Boutique & Gallery were out of a 1940s men suiting catalog! I used others from the series in my son Matthew’s apartment in Dallas and we still have a few left!

Even her laundry is wonderful! After the walls and ceiling were painted SW Pearly White and the cabinets SW Front Porch, a stencil was added to the ceiling to give the room a little fun!

Lucky to have such a massive master suite with room enough for two seating areas, she chose SW Silverpointe for the walls! This is a wonderful gray tone with a hint of blue, and it looks great with carrara and calacatta marbles in a bath! The headboard is by Eloquence, and Aidan Gray chairs and lamps were purchased at the Segreto Boutique, along with the wonderful painting by Christina Graci! The side chests were from Wisteria, the chandelier was from Cuatro Furniture, and all the bedding was from Kuhl-Linscomb!!

And it looks like Leslie and Charles will be redecorating one more room in their house!!!

Which one will it be?! Thank you so much, Leslie and Charles, for sharing your home renovation project with us all and to Wade Blissard for his professional pics!!! Y’all did such a great job! Till next week!

Love what’s been done !What colors were used on dining chairs and table base and was table top refinished, as well? I’N debating
what to do with my cherry table top and side chairs, my hutch is linen , coca , small accent piece in silvery, aged metallic finish.

Lovely! Do you have a source for the mirror in the games room bath? I’ve been searching for one with that shape for over my mantel.
