What’s Segreto Been Up To?

Sep 12, 2016

Hi, blog friends! I hope you’re all having a great week! I really love sharing all the different projects we do, and this time they have been so varied!!! It’s certainly proof of the power of paint!!!

Before we get started I want you to know you are all invited to the Book Launch for Segreto Vignettes which will be at Back Row Home!!! I would love to celebrate with you all and…these Ladies and Gents sure know how to throw a party!! This is by far my favorite Segreto book to date!!!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Dog Portrait Painting by Segreto Gallery Artist

This little cutie, “Bella,” was delivered to the happy owner to hang in a special place in her home! Even Bella was barking at her oh-so-pretty portrait! Our Segreto artists are so talented when it comes to painting personalized commissions.

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Plastered Bathroom for Sarah Eilers

It was move-in time for this homeowner, and designer Sarah Eilers was thrilled at how the plastered walls and cabinet finishes made such an impact in this lovely master bath! Look at the mosaic inset in the floors – it was a perfect color inspiration for us!!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Green Blue Plastered Powder Room with Tuscan Style

This powder also received plaster!! The green-blue tone really set off this unusual sink basin design!!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Wood Plank Bathroom with Plaster Finish

This was a new finish for us over these planked walls!!! I am obsessed with the way this sanded-back plaster looks over the wood. Giving the surface a wax finish really authenticated that “been there” look and gave the walls such a unique luster!! Thank you, architectural consultant Sarah West, for inspiring me to come up with a new finish!!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Aged White Gray Doors

In the same home, we were given totally new, primed white doors, delivered to our shop by builder Parker House! Sarah couldn’t find reclaimed doors to fit the space, so she asked us to make these feel old and reclaimed!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Kitchen by Parker House and Sarah West

Installed, they felt just that way!! This kitchen will be one for the next book – haha (I didn’t say “Book 4,” did I?!). It will have an amazing antique piece as an island that’s going to totally finish off the look!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Aged Door Finish with Hardware

In the master suite, these shutters were built from new cedar! Finished in gray and limes, they took on a whole new look! Don’t worry, Sarah, we will age that black hardware as well!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Close Up of Aged Door Finish by Segreto Finishes

Here is a close up of the new finish!!!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Painting Vents to Match Wallpaper

Sometimes masking vents and plugs is our only job at a house! This wallpaper now looks seamless as talented Alex works his magic over all the vents in the space!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Door Finish with Antique Mirror

These closet doors make such a pretty statement now that they have a finish applied. The antique mirrors really are a nice touch to a closet entrance!!!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Door Finish by Segreto Finishes

Here they are up close… all the pretty molding details really stand out!!!

What's Segreto's Been Up To - Lovely Hand-Painted Tree Mural for Girls Room by Ashley Goforth

Starting with a cute pup, I had to end with a lovely accent mural we painted for designer Ashley Goforth in a girl’s room!!  This will last her through elementary all the way to adulthood! I would love this behind my bed!!!

You do amazing work. I am in the south of France where homes are full of the real thing–the stones, the plaster, the aged wood. And your work, I can attest, looks completely authentic. You make new homes look like they’ve been picked up and moved from France to the U.S.

I agree with “taste of france”. I adore these finishes! They take me back to Italy. Such fortunate people to live in these homes. They are so warm and inviting. Thanks for sharing.
