It is so fun to see homes for sale which we have worked in! Love seeing both how they look years later and also any changes in furnishings that have been made. This one, interiors by Munger Interiors, was featured in my second book Segreto Style and several blogs I had written because I love the before and afters. It remains as beautiful today as when we left the home!!! I found these pictures on Har.com. The home is listed by Kelley Austin with Martha Turner Sothebys International Realty.
Plastering the entry, much of the very heavy stained traditional furniture was replaced with a more casual French decor. We plastered the downstairs in a soft creamy tone and refinished the front door in a pale gray blue.
Looking back from the front door shows the traditional but open floor plan. Buttery creams and luxurious gray blue tones are woven throughout the interiors.
I must say the velvet on the dining chairs is so beautiful–look at the trim around the bottom. Those Munger girls are so detailed!
This shot shows it better and gives you a glimpse of the study, one of my favorite rooms in the house.
This room previously housed dark stained paneling which stopped a couple of feet from the ceiling. The paneling was taken to the ceiling, reclaimed beams were added, doors were installed with fabric to hide the computers, and a specialty paint finish and plastered ceiling was applied connecting the tones to the rest of the home.
This room is so pretty but my favorite part is the creative way the Mungers installed antique shutters as door fronts creating more storage. We finished the bottom to soften their appearance from the stark white original paint.
This room previously was dark and stained as well!
A textured older finish, with plastered walls, really transformed the kitchen den and breakfast room.
The pretty balloon shades really frame the incredible view of the back yard.
And now to the master retreat!!! I LOVE this tone of plaster-its so soothing and of course the bed, bedding and furnishings divine!
Bringing the same tones into the master bath and softening the cabinetry with a glaze, transformed this space into a French salon-oh lala! I hope you enjoyed this tour as much as I did. I am so happy to be working on this sweet clients new home and with the talented Munger Interiors once again!
