A Wonderful Home With Segreto’s Finishes for Sale!!!

Apr 03, 2017

Hi Friends!!  Before I show you this amazing home, I wanted to say how fun it was for me to meet so many of you at Round Top! I hope you all found wonderful treasures and had so much fun with your friends and hubbies!  The weather was great, the vendors brought such unique and special wares with them, but most of all putting so many faces with names was the best part of all for me!!  Thank you so much to Marburger Farms Antique Show, Arbors and Susan Horne for hosting me at Texas’s biggest Antique fair!  And now for a truly special one of a kind Houston home!

Located on one of the most prestigious streets in the Broadacres Historic District in Houston, this home from the outside in is one of my all time favorites and is for sale!!  Bridget Degan with Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing and was so sweet to include Segreto’s finishes when promoting the home.

Totally renovated with a French Renaissance flair & endless detail it sits on a 40,239 sq.ft. lot and has 4 BR & 4.5 BTH, 2 BR guest house and pool.  I actually showed my architect this 1939 jewel when sending him inspiration pics for my redo! This has to be one of my favorite periods in architecture!!!

This house is in Segreto Style and it is really fun to see how the homeowner has mixed some more contemporary elements with her classically French antiques. I have always loved these French oak floors from Custom Floors Unlimited-masterful!!!

Plastered in a bright white, the formal living room looks towards the entry way. Two sets of French doors open to the front terrace. The French door to the right leads to the covered veranda.

On the other side of the entrance sits the dining room. If you have Segreto Style do you recognize this room?

Pour a glass of wine, snuggle up in your favorite chair and take a home tour with me into the world of SEGRETO style …

I love wine–hehe… the chaise and of course the finish on the paneling!!

The powder room has a 18th C. mural door, amazing console from Joyce Horn Antiques and French antique tile flooring from Chateau Domingue.  They all come with the house!!!

There are so many cozy sitting areas in this home. The family room overlooks the backyard. We glazed the paneled walls and plastered the ceiling!!

Who wouldn’t love this room!!  With lavenders and whites it also overlooks the pool and back yard.  The beams are truly old but the ceiling is made from grade 2 pine which we refinished to feel reclaimed.

The oversized island has a solid pewter counter top with carved border surround and antique architectural beams. The cabinets are all glazed in a two toned French flair.  Its super cool how she built in the herbiary prints as panels in the island!!

The ladies lounge sits off the kitchen.  I love painted floors and and this design is one of my fav’s we do!! This household has pets and kids, it is great to see how well it has held up to wear and tear!

What a Marie Antoinette style master retreat.  Our stenciling on the walls and gold detail on the cabinets compliment the Sherle Wagner sink and hardware.

A dressing room all her own with plenty of room for shoes and bags and a beautiful view to the backyard from her make up table!!!

The little princess of the house had a precious room all of her own!!  Notice the corbels hung like tables and her christening dress framed as art!!! LOVE that!!!

The back yard is as pretty as the front!  I have had the pleasure of being invited to a pool party here!  Needless to say–super fun.  I hope you enjoyed this home tour as much as I loved seeing it years later in a different light.  This homeowner has GREAT taste and we are working on designs for her new home now!  Can’t wait to share!

Every week Lori, Segreto’s bookkeeper, puts inspirational quotes in the gangs paychecks each week to encourage them to inspire and give back to others.  I really liked this one and thought you might too!!

Hi Deb! I love the wood ceiling as well. It has been so fun taking inexpensive pine and lending a reclaimed feel to it. Allows me to afford these beautiful finishes as well. Have a great week!
