Two Entrepreneurial Woman-Two Creative Homes!

Hi Friends!  We have been inspired by the break and have been working on some new projects at Segreto!!! These two have been super fun as each were spearheaded by super creative entrepreneurial women. The first home is Susan's, a long time friend who owns and runs Multiplicity, a venue, boutique and artisan school in Old Town Katy, Texas. Along with hosting weddings and events she and her staff teach group or private lessons on jewelry making, sculpture and a multitude of crafts--what a ...

Segreto is off to Fredericksburg!

We recently all packed up to work on a beautiful home in Fredericksburg Texas.  The last time I had been there was 25 years ago, when hubby and I stayed at a bed and breakfast-something they are known for!  I was excited to revisit this quaint Texas town! Source I found this historical home for sale which is a great example of all the beautiful stone work on all of the older homes, both the inside and out! Can't you just imagine a whole village with structures like this back in 1846 ...

Colorado Update Part 3-Bedrooms and Baths!

Well here is the last in the series!  Thank you for all your wonderful comments!! The house isn't completely done yet but close! I really wanted to plaster the house but due to my crews heavy schedules and the contractor's timeline it just didn't work out!   This was my inspiration board for the bedrooms!  What did I use? I loved the fabric behind the bed designed by Susan Blankenship(house is in Segreto Vignettes!) but with my lower ceilings and small room, I decided it wouldn't ...

A Colorado Update Part 2!

After months of construction, (see last week's post) we were on our way to install the furnishings. Hubby John, daughter Kirby, and I went up there for a whirlwind 3 days to install all the furnishings and to see the unit in person for the first time. It was especially nerve-racking for me as I was unable to visit the job site during the entire renovation process. All details were relayed by texts and emails. Well hang on, it's quite a change! Here is the entrance before. Welcome ...

Colorado Update!

Hi Friends! I am sorry it has taken so long to update you on the Colorado home!  I really wanted to finish and show you the progression all at one time.  so we have a three week series from start to finish. It definitely is a big change and a totally different look. Remember these pictures of the original townhome we purchased, furniture and all? Although hubby John was thrilled with all the furnishings in the unit, I though it felt dark and a bit claustrophobic. He even loved the torn ...

Christmas Decor: Creating Displays, Tablescapes and More from Sentimental Items!

I went to a lovely Christmas party last year that's inspiring me to mix up my own home's holiday decor this year! The wonderful hostess, Nancy, had Christmas everywhere, but what I loved so much is that she grouped items with sentimental meaning in every room. This was an especially fun gathering for me because I was able to bring my two daughters, who knew Nancy's son from college!! He was in charge of the peppermint martinis, which it looks like they all have in hand! Of course, ...

What Segreto’s Been Up to!

We have been busy with so many fun projects that I thought it was time to share! I have had so much fun seeing some of the homes we have worked on, furnished!! This is a stately, established home where the bones are amazing and the homeowners just wanted an update. The original moldings and floors remained but the walls were coated with plaster in a soothing warm tone. Before, the moldings were white, but toning them to the plaster put focus on the architecture and floors and really ...
