Two Entrepreneurial Woman-Two Creative Homes!

Hi Friends!  We have been inspired by the break and have been working on some new projects at Segreto!!! These two have been super fun as each were spearheaded by super creative entrepreneurial women. The first home is Susan's, a long time friend who owns and runs Multiplicity, a venue, boutique and artisan school in Old Town Katy, Texas. Along with hosting weddings and events she and her staff teach group or private lessons on jewelry making, sculpture and a multitude of crafts--what a ...

I Love That Sample!!! Where Will it Go?

I was trying to get a bit ahead of my blog writing and stumbled onto a post I had started in 2011! I had so much fun looking back at how some of our techniques have evolved and especially how my house has changed over the years!! I thought you would too... You've probably heard the old saying that a cobbler doesn't have shoes. Well, that doesn't apply to me. In my case, a finisher definitely has finishes!! A Home Full of Whimsy!!!

Even before you reach the entrance, you know this home is full of laughter and fun starting with the wonderful bronze sculpture of bunnies dancing in the ...

Designer Nicole Zarr's addition of pops of color and contemporary elements truly makes this Tuscan style home unique!!! The entire home was plastered in warm tones and then the entrance and gallery waxed to set those areas apart! Here you can really see the plaster and what a difference it makes on the upstairs landing! To the right of ...

Salvaging A Light Fixture & House Update!

With all the money going out the door with my house renovation, I am really making an effort to try and paint or refurbish my existing pieces as much as I can rather than give away, sell or buy new!!   I bought this chandelier from Joyce Horn Antiques to place in my entryway years ago.  Italian made, it was green and rust colored with bundles of hanging grapes and crystal accents galore; I just had to have it! 15 years later, all the grapes and crystals that I had originally adored ...
