Celebrate the 4th!!

Jun 26, 2017

Hi Friends!! Well this year I wanted to research tabletop and party ideas for the 4th earlier. Many of my Easter picks were sold out by the time the blog posted!!! I am going to be in Colorado this year for the 4th-finally, so I won’t be doing a big event but love to look for ideas and wanted to share a few with you.  Grab your coffee or glass of wine–this is a long one!

Typically a casual celebration, it’s a good place just to have fun with your décor! The first thing to do is look at what you have!!  I was surprised in investigating my cupboards how many items fell into the RED WHITE and BLUE category—perfect colors to celebrate our great nation!!!

What are you missing?

Placemats?

Here are my top pics—From fancy to casual, love them all but the choice for me would be the blue sequin one.  I could mix and match this for other party décor.

The blue sequins are from Kohl’s.  Just $4.07 each.  Use SAVE15 at checkout! The woven red, white and blue mats are $17.99 for 4 at Hobby Lobby.

For a dressy affair these are super patriotic from Kohl’s and are on sale for $14.99 each!

Napkins?

I love using dishtowels for napkins on casual events.  They typically are super soft and wash up so well. Their oversized nature creates such a pretty tablescape when  folded longways and placed between the main and salad plate creating a small drape over the table.

Here are some patriotic suggestions.

What’s more American than cherry pie! These inspirations from World Market are $12.99 for a set of four!

source

Stripes are from Crate & Barrel.  $12.95 for a set of two!

Cheers to the Red, White & Blue! Segreto Secrets!

Also from Crate & Barrel are these more subtle textured terry towels.  Very absorbent!  $6.95 each.

Wayfair and Amazon have some great picks too. Love the big stars on the navy background!

Just when I thought I was done with my search I saw this photo from Uncommon Design and was inspired to go in a totally different direction!  I love the bandanna idea and it does incorporate a bit of Texas!  Yee hah!! They work great for place mats and napkins  or………

source

Me and My Insanity blog sewed them together to make this super cute cloth! I know you can get bandannas at Walmart and on Amazon but loving to look at all that is available, I dug into the deep web and scored!!

source

The website Wholesale For Everyone has bandannas for every theme.  Here is their flag collection.  They can be ordered individually, in packages of 12 or in cases of hundreds!!! Pick your Holiday favorites!!!

source

I couldn’t get this  image from Crate and Barrel out of my head. I loved the mix of galvanized metal and of the papers —  what easy clean up!!!  But where to find the papers in the red white and blue?

source

WebstaurantStore on line has great selections of baskets, paper containers and deli basket liners!

Baskets!

Basket Liners!

I also searched the web for more galvanized metal chargers! They range from $4-$12  each

source

Michaels – $4.19 each

Pottery Barn – On Sale!  $10

source

World Market – Two for $23.98

Paper Products

I you want to go the paper plate route, I thought these from Hobby Lobby were really cute!! They even have straws to match—the felt runner  for $9.99 down the middle would really set them off.

And don’t forget to decorate with flags like Martha Stewart did here in her planter!!  Flags are great to place in flower arrangements, line your walkway with, tie to napkins, or mixed in silverware caddies. The United States Flag Store is a great place to purchase flags of any size!

For more 4th of July inspirations see past blogs, here and here  I hope you all have a happy July 4th with family and friends!!!  Cheers to you all and the RED, WHITE and BLUE!

    Hi Leslie!

I love the idea of using those galvanized chargers–I have so many vintage buckets and vases around that it would make sense to tie it all together! Thanks for the inspiration. No plans yet as I thought I might be in Arizona for the 4th and now I’m not sure! xox
