Christmas Décor -Spotlight on Regina Gust!

Dec 11, 2017

Hi Friends!!  I am so excited about today’s spotlight on Regina Gust!  Not only do I love seeing how she transforms homes for any holiday, but both homes featured this year are for clients in which we also did the finishes!!

House #1:  New York Savvy!

Garlands Galore………. One of Regina’s trademarks  is her stunning garlands, all saturated with ornaments, ribbons and accessories, from elegant to whimsical, all her beauties really make you want to jingle all the way!!

Veering away from the traditional red and green, Regina’s choice of color combinations, become artwork in itself.   She and her creative team pride themselves on customizing holiday and event décor that really individualizes homes, while complimenting their furnishings and art.

Look how this stunning banister spray compliments the artwork mounted on the wall! Shopping the globe for a wide range of bobbles to use in her arrangements she stays ahead of the latest trends to unveil unique decorations.

When I first met Regina she was just decorating for the holidays, but her business has expanded to weddings, parties and corporate events!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how she creatively added some Christmas cheer to this  room.  Rather than the traditional display on the mantle, she bordered the sides–BRILLIANT!

Regina’s developed an eye for different color palettes and an appreciation for various decorative styles.  “Ultimately, I never want to overpower the home with decorations, but complement the everyday décor.”  It’s hard to tell where the interior design ends and the Christmas décor comes in!!!

House #2: European Traditional

Calling holiday decorating the “icing on the cake,” Regina integrates fun European influences, and traditional favorites into this homes Holiday decorations.

Regina instantly picks up on her client’s style and décor and recognizes the importance of understanding the textural and color combinations of the home. Her first sign of this talent and passion came while hanging 1,000 mylar icicles with her family one Christmas. “Mom and Dad had pretty much retired at a certain point. My sister and brother lasted another two handfuls, but I kept going and individually hung icicles on every tree limb!” Now I would call that patience!

Don’t stop at the tree!!!………. To elicit holiday spirit throughout your house decorate, chandeliers, sconces and mirrors and more. Sometimes just a subtle touch will do – like this spray on the chandelier!! I think it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with the stress of decorating, but just placing a few festive pieces in key places like this can do the trick.

Regina’s so wonderful at doing the right amount without taking over or distracting from the beauty of the interior and architectural design. I love the way she used the fabric as inspiration for her color directions.  What a beautiful table this would be set!

Here is the talented Miss Regina. who after  25 years in the business, is still amazed with how it all came together, saying, “I don’t know if it is fate or just pure luck, but I have to go on fate.” A fearless approach and passion for flair has helped Regina carve out a special niche in the luxury Holiday and event design market. Constantly evolving, her holiday business has expanded to include Halloween, Easter, Valentines and special events. Thanks Regina for sharing your holiday joy with us!!!
