I had a surprise package today!!! An advanced copy of Segreto Vignettes came to the office! My staff wanted me to open the box in front of them, so when I walked into the office I had a rush of people coming my way with their big surprise!!

Yes, I had approved things along the way but never had seen the book all together and bound! The printer would send me a bound book with no writing to approve the binding and the paper. Next, the book hardcover jacket, then the printed pages and lastly, the cover!

I was thrilled to see it all put together!! I love the cover, a Talbot Cooley interior. And that cute pup who just didn’t take a bad picture. The title is foil stamped in a champagne metallic and in case you want to take off the cover…

…the book is just as pretty with the jacket removed!!!!  I have learned from my daughter Kirby, that it’s just as important to make coffee table books an artful accessory as it is to fill the pages with beautiful inspirations and useful information!

It’s hard to believe that this is the third in the series and that Segreto has been so blessed to be able to customize the backdrops for so many beautiful interiors while working with so many talented designers, architects, builders and homeowners! Without them, these books would not be possible and certainly not as inspirational. A heartfelt thanks!

But…what makes this book so different is listening to you!! Reading all of the emails from people who purchased the book and seeing how my clients were using them as a design reference, to not only learn about finishing, but to view different cabinet styles, lighting options, staircase railings, floors, beams, counter surfaces, furnishings and more. The first part of the book is divided into sections describing different finishes such as plaster, stone, finishing beams, creating reclaimed elements, and much much more!!!

Illustrated with stunning rooms, this edition really shows how finishes truly effect a room’s overall allure! I used a local color correction firm this time who did such a great job on correcting the colors so they truly look like the tones of the rooms we did!

The second half of the book is divided into sections on your favorite room types–kitchens, baths, and master retreats!

Filled with one-of-a-kind examples, I listed more color and source information than ever before!

There is even a section on creative ideas of how to disguise a T.V.!

The last major section of the book contains tips from experts, including builders, designers, architects, and tradespeople.

And, of course, tips from me on how to choose sheen, pick paints and paint on fabrics.

Being frustrated on finding information on which surfaces are the most durable and how to care for them once installed, I interviewed companies at the top of their trades to gain insight on these topics.

A big treat for me was Joni Webb’s contribution, of not only rooms she designed, but in writing my forward and an article on slip-covering furniture. Joni is a designer, author of Cote de Texas and such a sweet lady! I was thrilled to share some of her insight with you!!
