Going, Going Gone!

Aug 28, 2017

Hi Friends! I wanted to thank all of you that have reached out about Hurricane Harvey. I will post about it later in the week when I have access to downloading my pictures. We welcome your prayers and support as, so far it has been devastating here with so many people affected and with more bad weather to come! For fellow Houstonians, my prayers are with you and for the storm to let up!!  Be safe!! xo

So here is the post that I had scheduled in advance.  There is another Segreto home for sale!! This one didn’t stay on the market long!

Listed by Diane Kingshill of Martha Turner Sothebys International Realty below  is what they said about the home.

Enhanced by the artisan accents of Segreto, Inc. and architectural design elements of Chateau Domingue, this highly-custom home features an open, light-filled interior with backdrops of stone terraces, pool, and gardens. Amenities include an antique French tile floor below a silver-leaf ceiling; waxed grass-cloth walls; natural hardwood floors by Custom Floors Unlimited; open gathering kitchen and great room; full bar; bedrooms w/ sitting area; gameroom/study hub; master suite w/ lavish bath.

It is a beauty!!

With an open floor plan and no case openings, we decided the best way to give the entrance drama was to focus on the ceiling. Silver leafing it added to the homes transitional aesthetic and created a dramatic statement.  This entrance is in my 3rd book,  Segreto Vignettes in a section talking about how metallic is current today!

Flanking the entrance is the dining room…

……….and the living room, both covered in a waxed grass cloth wallcovering! I love all the pops of color that were used in their furnishings and fabrics.

Straight back is the den. Look at their little pup posing for the picture.  A beautiful room, if overlooks the pool in their backyard.

Here you can really see the floorplan.

The kitchen has clean white cabinets as the perimeter and we pulled a warm gray complimenting the marble and glazed it for the center island.

This space also has a favorite element of mine……..

………custom banquette seating.

What a fun powder!

Upstairs there is a little vignette which connects two bedrooms.  Wanting to make it special we hand painted a floor design, transforming it from a hallway to a room all on its own.

The master retreat is beautiful and certainly spacious! Wonder what their next home will be?  I hope I get to help them put up a few personal touches!!  I hope everyone has a wonderful week!  Till next time!!

Still Time to Vote!

I am so honored to find out that Segreto Secrets has been nominated again for the Amara Blog Awards.  Last year, because of you, we won the Best US Design Blog.  This year we are in the running for Best Design Inspiration Blog ! With your help maybe we can win for a second time running. I would be so appreciative if you could take a minute to vote for Segreto Secrets!  First we have to make the shortlist so spread the word.
