What’s Trending for Your Thanksgiving Tablescape?
Hi Friends! Well we have so much to be thankful for this year and I am excited to share with you ideas for my favorite thing to do which is setting the table!!
First I will show you how my table ended up for Thanksgiving 2016 and then I will share what I think is trending for Thanksgiving 2017! Last year my friend inspired me when I saw her table set! Queen of layering, I tried to take to heart some of her tips! To see her home go here!
I loved her plates which she bought from Hobby Lobby and although I searched high and low there were none left! I found these online at…..
… Crate & Barrel and layered them with white plates I had. To save space and money, I typically use white plates for just about every occasion and just change out the salad plates and napkins for different looks.
Spending Thanksgiving at the bay I incorporated a seaside theme with a thankful flair.
I
I found some vintage Lucite napkin rings on Etsy for a very reasonable price but there are also sources on Amazon.
Wanting starfish, I ordered some from Quality Shells . They average .56 each for 2-3 inch size and 3-4 inch sizes. My Mom and I had a craft day and glued the smaller shells on top of the larger ones with a hot glue gun.
I think they turned out so cute and were super reasonable in price. These Lucite bases can be decorated in so any different ways!!
Ordering these placemats from Z Gallerie on sale to layer over my off white square mats I felt they needed to be tweaked when I saw them in person. Picking up some gray spray paint from Home Depot, It was an easy fix to mist over them which toned down the gold.
A couple of final touches and I was done!
The linen napkins with cute white Turkeys, I purchased from Monroe Market in Friendswood while they were hosted a book signing for me added a bit of traditional Thanksgiving décor. And……of course the blue hydrangeas from Trader Joes!!! Remember my tip! They get a new shipment of flowers every morning at 8:00. So be there at opening to find the best selection.
I ended up setting two tables both very similar–just different napkins and combination of mats!!
So What’s New for 2017?
Natural traditional fall colors are back!! So searching the web I have picked some super combinations and inspirations for you to use for your own tables this year!!
Pier one one of my go to places for table décor, has a great selections of placemats this year. When I went recently the entire store was 30% off!!
What better shows falls than the changing colors of maple leaves?
For a tone on tone look these would look beautiful! The natural feel with a bit of gold infused would ground a dressy dinnerware.
For those that like a bit more bling, the golden magnolia leaves, perfect for Thanksgiving, would also transfer right over to Christmas and New Years!
The perfect color combinations, how could anyone not like these beaded pumpkins?
This runner would combine with the leaf or rattan placemats above. Mixed with fall toned napkins, it would be the start to a perfect tablescape!
For drinks to start, or deserts after, I really like the spirit these paper napkins inspire! On sale for 7.96, they remind us to gather with a grateful heart.
Pottery Barn
Either colorful or natural as your placemat base, these pumpkin plates would compliment both!! And as shown here, they would layer well with white plates! Set of 4 only $32

A few more natural options, these could be used all year long. I do like the oval shapes as with the round I can’t always fit my glasses on the matts!
World Market
I always like putting little party favors on everyone’s plate or mixing holiday elements into the centerpieces. World market has a great selection this year like these cute, natural fiber turkeys !

These faux gingko stems look real and would be easy to incorporate into a fresh flowers centerpiece or mantle spray for color. $14.97 for 3.
And what about the hostess gift? Fall unique food items are always a hit and Trader Joes and World Market are two great places to shop for these items. The above pumpkin butter from World Market sounds great spread on a piece of toast or layered into a stack of hot pancakes!
A perfect gift because the leafed shaped bottle– delicious maple syrup this year and a vase for next years events! On sale for $7.99
