What do you get when you combine one innovative custom home builder, an interior designer at the forefront of what’s trending and a budget for beautiful finishes?  A  showcase home with lots of wonderful ideas! I was so thrilled when builder Richard Price and designer Tami Owen asked me to provide the finishes for this project. This beautiful home sold at the preview party, so I wanted to share a few photos with you taken right before!

Dramatic steel front doors by Durango Doors provide an uninterrupted view of the landscaping beyond and welcomes guests into a plastered foyer designed for entertaining. A built-in masonry runner, also used on the front porch and walkway, was created with reclaimed firebrick from Chicago and 100 year old reclaimed oak,  giving guests a hint to all of this home’s special details. Styled to perfection, The Owen Group included a painted Louis XVI style French Taboret, antique bench, book basket and accessories from Joyce Horn Antiques.

Within the entry, a bar was built behind a set of newly constructed paneled doors which we aged to feel reclaimed. During parties, the doors open up for an ideal place to serve drinks to incoming guests and can be closed when not in use. Custom lanterns from BROWN highlight the cove ceiling and artwork by Michelle Y Williams is seen throughout the home. What a pretty French Morbier clock from Vieux.

Great features make this bar beautiful, whether open or closed. The concrete tiles and counter tops, our inspiration for the cabinet finish, were custom made by James Dawson Design.

Carrying the plaster into the formal living room, cabinets were designed, built and finished to look like furniture pieces. The fireplace from Alkusari Stone houses antique brick inside and candlesticks from Joyce Horn Antiques atop combined with contemporary art! The Lucite coffee and smoky mirrored end tables from Vieux lend a modern touch to the home’s French style – tres chic!

Exiting the living room, one can either go up to the second story bedrooms or into a beautiful home office.

In the main powder bath, we plastered the walls in a cool Benjamin Moore Ozark Shadows. The glazed vanity features a two-toned finish using Sherwin Williams Collonade Gray with contrasting inset panel in Benjamin Moore Sea Pearl.

Reclaimed oak flooring from AR Floor Designs are carried throughout. Antique beams connect the living area to the expansive kitchen complete with a two toned Wolf metal hood and range.

With lots of storage, a large center island with concrete top grounds the kitchen. We finished it with a gray wash using Sherwin Williams Dovetail to compliment the Calcutta marble topping the perimeter work areas which feature a slightly lighter cabinet color, Sherwin Williams Collonade Gray.

When I visit my husband’s family in California, so many of  his friend’s homes carry the inside living areas into the outside spaces. I was so excited to see here a fully retractable wall which opens the den to the beautiful outdoor loggia. Featuring easy to clean slip covered couches and chairs in crisp white from Custom Creations, this home was built for seamless entertaining!

Wouldn’t you just love enjoying an evening cocktail in this beautiful backyard?

Conveniently connected to both the loggia and of the living area is a pretty little cabana bathroom whose walls we applied a fun stencil to! The cool gray base creates the perfect relief for the floor to ceiling fern design completed in the same Collonade Gray seen in the kitchen and extended to the bathroom cabinet.

Wide antique oaks planks secured by a gorgeous steel railing makes for a stunning ascent to the upstairs bedrooms.

Chic meets rustic in the master retreat! YES …the new boxed beams… which were finished to feel reclaimed, received a touch of sparkle from the chandelier from AREA. The geometric rug from Creative Flooring and that plush headboard with white linens certainly sparks some ideas for my own house.

Not to be outdone, this master bathroom has it all! Adding depth to the large, open space, we plastered the walls and finished the his and hers sink areas with hints of aged silver leafing. The furniture style cabinetry and the antique glass insets add a touch of sophistication to the space.

Outside, large stones inset in grass provided the hard-scaping for this beautiful pool in a soft and tranquil way. I had so much fun collaborating on this amazing show home and hope that you enjoyed revisiting it with me! Thank you Martha Turner Properties contributing the photos!
