We had the book’s big launch last Thursday at Back Row Home and it was a huge success!!  Now that the book is officially released, all of your orders have been shipped! Please accept my sincere apologies for those that were shipped and not signed.  I have written each of you a personalized note and have ordered you a book plate with my signature to apply to your book cover.  They will all be sent out next week. And now off to my favorite antique fairs in Round Top!

THEN……….It’s Round Top time again and I not only can’t wait to hit those glorious fields filled with one-of-a-kind treasures, but I am THRILLED to premier, Segreto Vignettes at two different Round Top fairs!! Throughout the post, I will let you know about fun things to do and links to newsletters which supply maps and awesome tips to navigate all the fairs.

The “Round Top” Antique Shows have come a long way from where it all started.

Did you know the Original Round Top Antiques Fair started with 22 dealers? Yep, it all started in this “Iconic” red barn. It has grown to more than 2,000 dealers across the country and transforms the small Texas town into a market spread over about 25-miles. As an antique dealer or a shopper, you will not want to miss this antiquing experience in Round Top, Texas.

I love the hunt as well. I find a lot of special furniture treasures at Round Top.  Although there are many there whose finish is perfect as is, I look for pieces with good lines that I can refinish. (a Sneak Peek of Segreto Vignettes!) And…my sweet Grandmother, Florene; her love of design has always inspired me! I have redone so many of the pieces she has given me, giving them a whole new look.

This year, I will be at two shows!! Both my favorite places to shop! The first, The Arbors! The Fall Show 2016 will begin Wednesday, September 21 – Oct. 1, 2016.  The show is full of amazing dealers under the big white tents. The second will be opening Day at Marburger Farm.

I will be there Monday, September 26th, 10am – 5pm (Susan Horne’s booth – Tent D)

Shopping by day and entertainment by night! Arbor Antique’s Stardust Martini Bar is host to great music all week. Click here for the music schedule.  Make plans with your girlfriends to spend the day shopping and stay for food, drinks and great music.

I just see my talented designer friend Julie Dodson popping up everywhere. She, along with Ike Isenhour, a Dallas-based International Interior designer, are presenting the Designer Dream Spree consisting of an amazing panel of world-renowned designers who together discuss the topic of “Exceptional Discoveries.” The panel discussion will take place at 3pm, Monday, Sept. 26 at The Compound, 2550 South State Highway 237.

The panel discussion is open to the public with all proceeds benefiting local animal shelters – a cause near and dear to Julie’s heart!!! Arbors and Marburger Farm are both sponsoring the big event!!!

On Tuesday September 27th, I am off to Marburger Farms. I have premiered each book on opening day at this amazing antique extravaganza and I am so excited that I will be there this year as well, bright and early! I will be set up across the office by the food court so come by and say hi before that bell rings at 1oam to hit the tents!!

I will be there Tuesday, September 27th, 8:30am – 2pm and

Wednesday, September 28th, 9am – 2pm (across from office next to food court)

There is such a wide range of glorious finds here, something for the interior designer, the collector, the treasure hunter and shoppers alike!

There will be every price point, era and style!!

….. you can still enjoy the Royer family’s home cooking a few blocks east at the Pie Haven, where daughter Tara serves up signature desserts such as the seven-fruit Junk Berry Pie. YUM!!

Tips on Navigating Round Top!

One of the best resources I have found to navigate the fairs and goings-on at Round Top is the information given by the Round Top Register! I strongly suggest to go to the site and enter your email for their free newsletter. Not only do they have wonderful maps but they will update you daily during the big show letting you know about events.
