Look what I found at Hello Lovely!
Hi Friends!! I was catching up on a favorite blog of mine, Hello Lovely, one Saturday morning and saw so many images on homes we have done where designer and Milieu magazine editor Pamela Pierce helped with the interiors. Some must have been from homes for sale websites and others from magazines, many were from over 10 years ago, things I hadn’t seen in years! I love the pictures and wanted to share a few with you along with a bit of insight to Michele, the talented and sweet author of the Hello Lovely Blog! I think it is one you all will enjoy! I have for years!
I do remember this home and the mural we painted on the range hood. The artwork was inspired by a painting I had bought in a Paris flea market probably from the 1800’s which used to hang in my home! Creating our inspiration of the piece certainly makes a statement in the kitchen.
I have always loved the charm of the skirted basins and the construction of islands being totally different than the perimeter cabinets–both in style and in finish.
Putting sea grass down the entrance hall really lessened the formality of the high polish floor which are beneath as did the reclaimed doors leading to the bar. If I remember correctly, and goodness sometimes that is a stretch, we plastered the walls and had stenciled the ceiling in a very faint tight design and bordered it with a painted line framing the ceiling.
Goodness this room we plastered has always been a favorite of mine. This home was is Antique Shops and Designers magazine! Pinned to my Pinterest boards for reference, I love the way the chairs are slip covered and the beautiful tones in the billowy silk drapes.
This home featured in Veranda was my first project to work with Pamela Pierce. The kitchen is amazing and the rest of the home even more masterful!!
This is Michele from the Hello Lovely Blog! She is married to an attorney and has two grown kids believe it or not! She is always renovating her own home and impressing she and her husband do much of the work themselves!!! She has a warm spiritual side which comes across in all of her posts.
Why do I like Michele so much? She does show beautiful interiors, trips to Paris, and lovely gardens–all true!….. but most of all you feel like you learn about her during the process and are drawn to her. She shares some of her life challenges, including surviving breast cancer in such a spiritual and uplifting way!!
For example, in the post where I took the pictures above from, Michele shares her connection with Pam, when Pam comforted Michele during a difficult time in her life. Through reading some of her verbiage-poetry really– it has encouraged the positive, faith and grace in myself.
Come to find out she studied psychology at Northwestern University then earned a master’s in counseling. After two decades of teaching, academic tutoring, and emotional coaching with students, she embarked upon a free-lance writing career in 2008. More than 500 of her articles have been published on the topics of parenting, education, humor and creativity. She started the Hello Lovely Studio in 2010 where she not only authors her blog Hello Lovely and Hello Lovely Child, but also paints herself!!
This is one of my favorite posts from Michele. I had just purchased some Ikea chairs and loved the sources on slipcovering them!! GREAT information in this one!!
There is another except on Sofas here!! This is the same concept except about their couches!!!
Nice as she is beautiful she made all of these beautiful pictures for me when she received her copy of Segreto Vignettes.
Not one but two!!!
From Michele’s posts to mine, I will leave you with something I found on her blog. I know you will not only enjoy her posts, but her as well! Till next week.
I wonder what beauty might come
to earth if we begin simply to practice
hopefulness just a bit more boldly?
Now off to Round Top!!!
